About CA Foundation Course

The CA Foundation course (formerly known as CPT) is the entry-level examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is the gateway to the prestigious Chartered Accountancy profession and is designed to test a student's basic understanding of accounting, business laws, mathematics, and economics.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students who have passed Class 12 examination (10+2) from a recognized board
• Students who have appeared for Class 12 examination can also register provisionally
• Students from any stream (Commerce, Science, Arts) can register
• No minimum percentage required in Class 12 for registration

Exam Pattern

• CA Foundation exam is conducted twice a year - May/June and November/December
• Papers 1 & 2 are subjective type (descriptive)
• Papers 3 & 4 are objective type (MCQ based)
• Each paper carries 100 marks with a duration of 3 hours
• Minimum 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate to pass
• Negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers in objective papers
